The bye week is good to the Seahawks!

Movin on up!

The bye week was a good week for the Seahawks. The Rams lost again. The 49ers fell to the hands of Saints and the Cardinals lost a shoot-out with the NY Brets. We didn't even have to play a game and we moved to within a 1/2 a game of 1st place in the NFC West. Now comes the hard part. Over the next 10 weeks we have to face 9 playoff contenders with a combined record of 22-12 so far this year. That includes trips to New York to face the Giants, Tampa Bay, Miami and then to Dallas on Thanksgiving day. The Giants and the Cowboys are the best of teams we face on these road trips, but anyone familiar with the Seahawks recent history knows that anytime we travel to East coast, we struggle mightily.

This week we get the pleasure of facing the undeafed, reigning World Champion NY Giants, in New York. On top of that, the Seahawks are only 2-7 in games immediatly following the bye week. The good news is Deion Branch, Bobby Engram and Koren Robinson should all be making their 2008 season debuts in New York. The worry that I have is, how good will these guys actually be in their first game back. None of them had very many reps in practice until this week. If McMullen is our top wideout again this week, do we actually stand a chance? Will our defense step up and get in the face of Eli Manning? The rest of the NFC West did their job and lost, now we need to get on the field and take control of our own destiny.
